XTR1 Off-Road Reinforcement Plates Set
Xtrusion-Overland makes some great stuff. I just returned from my first trip with one of their bed racks on and it performed flawlessly. Their customer service is very responsive. I have appreciated working with them. The offroad reinforcement plates offer more rigidity for more aggressive off roading and add a nice aesthetic touch as well.
Based on the comments here, as well as my own experience, it does seem like they have a logistics problem. My original order showed up with all the bars and accessories but no hardware. Xtrusion-Overland did correct the issue and rushed me a package the next day with all the hardware. But it does seem like an issue.
Kind of hard to use them when I don’t have the xtruded bars yet. Kind of piss poor considering. I feel like I was told it’ll be 6weeks and y’all sent a box of hardware at 6weeks just to say I got something. You could do a lot better in the communication department and maybe logistics.
The team did a great job with this order despite UPS losing it in Illinois. I received my rack and was able to get it setup without too much fuss. Great quality gear and i am already looking at extras for rigging. Great product, great customer service..
Extrusion is of course incredibly versatile, modular, and adjustable as your needs grow. But XO bracket system is the key. Sure you can buy extrusion separately - but the fit and finish of already having the brackets allows you to concentrate on how you want to customize your rack system, instead of spending precious time engineering your own home made YouTube DIY rack that looks it. Believe me I tried. Xtrusion Overland already looks sharp and comes plug and play so it jump starts your actual plan prepping for the zombie apocalypse or your in-law visit. The trifecta is: modularity, light aluminum, and not being overpriced even compared to the cheapest steel racks imported from underpaid barefoot employees. Here in the US, XO already figured it out: extrusion plus engineered brackets equals more playing and less plugging. So treat yourself - you deserve it don’t you? Yes you do. Sure I wrote that like I was paid, but my name is Jay and I also suffer from buyer’s remorse. And I’m here to say I’m now brand loyal. So I hope they are listening and don’t raise their prices like everyone else on the planet. We now have WW3 to deal with and may have to pack it up to get the hell outta here if needed… or worse just escape from our soul-sucking company for the weekend - haha. Thanks XO
They worked great. Very easy to install.
Tracking and shipping was lacking.
Tough handle. Makes getting on the vehicle allot easier. Must have. Highly recommended.
Using the metal handles to latch down my canoe on the top of my rack they work perfectly thanks overland
Metal Handle Kit - Set
Strong handles and great addition to the back of the rack. May also add to the sides with next purchase.
XTR1 Modular Molle Plate
Did the plates have a right and left side? I like symmetry so on the passenger side I had to put the letter in backwards to keep the panels facing the same direction.
Great add on to the best rack system out there
Love the ease of installation and infinite ways it can be customized.
XTR1 Roof Top Tent Brackets (Stainless Steel)
These tent brackets have my tent locked in on my XTR1 rack. no flex, no movement, just rock solid.
Jon was so responsive and so helpful
These brackets made installing the tent extremely simple. Far better option than wrapping long bolts and plates around the extrusion beams
Bought these thinking I'd get a RTT but then decided against it. They are now ratchet strap or rope anchor points. The large hole is perfect for the hook of a 2in ratchet strap. A 1" strap can also pass through the large hole. Double 2 back to back for extra strength to hold down my canoe.
Solid hardware that has been invaluable in assembling my rack.
Good little bolts for the money
I have an X4S tonneau cover. The XTR1 is one the few racks that are totally compatible with it at a decent price. It’s super customizable because the entire thing is essentially 80/20-style extruded aluminum. But there’s a trade off with that. It’s not a breeze to put together or install. But, if you like to tinker a bit and don’t mind fiddling with thread lock and a torque wrench then it’s the best. Plus, they have a ton of kits to upgrade functionality. If you’re comfortable working with extruded aluminum… the sky’s the limit with what you can do.
The rack itself arrived in record time. It was packed quite well with no missing hardware. The instructions were well thought out and easy to follow.
We immediately put our tuff stuff alpha 2 tent on it and took it to Yellowstone for 5 nights of camping. The rack didn't budge or squeak one bit with over 1800 miles of driving through mountains, highways, and trails.
Solid product and easy installation.
High quality, looks fantastic, and easy installation.
Outstanding quality and diverse options to make this rack what you want in functionality.
I have a 23 zero 270 degree awning mounted on this rack and it is solid. 1000+ miles on the highway and 100+ miles on dirt and there is no play or movement at all.
Sub-structure for awning mount is solid . No play when driving down the road . Would recommend for your awning.
Have not installed yet, since the entire order arrived a couple of days after my camping trip. But I caught Covid, and was out for 2 weeks and didn’t make that trip. I am currently camping in Yosemite, without an awning.. parts looked good though
The risers are perfect to use for a shovel and are.
I used a bike U-bolt lock to secure them to the rack, preventing theft of the shovel & Axe.
The risers keep my shovel from rubbing against the plates! Works great!
Another quality product from the guys at Xtrusion Overland.
so the rack itself is amazing i already ordered a few more things to add to it.i would love to get the rear and side doors but i can’t afford then at the moment but its an amazing rack
Rack was delivered 8 weeks after ordering. Some parts had metal gouges and not just chipped paint. Instructions were not included, instead it was a piece of paper with a QR code that didn’t work for me. Thankfully a google search helped me find the instructions, although a large print out would have been easier than my iPhone. The thread locker they provided, were in individual single use pouches and were hard upon delivery so I had to go and purchase my own. Additionally, the extrusion pieces had metal debris left in the threaded holes and forced me to clean out the debris with a pick in several. The instructions forced you to read ahead to verify what parts were used where because the sizes and types of hardware listed for different models don’t match your vehicle’s rack and it can be difficult to understand. Additionally, the winged support brackets aren’t mentioned in the instructions. Lastly, the dimensions of the extrusions were not always accurate and was too tight at times which caused me the most frustration. The HT T-nuts occasionally would have to be hammered using a rubber mallet and 16” 1/4” extension to be put into place. This created metal shards and curly metal debris, chipping the paint as it was worked into position. I wish their was less gap between the rear window and the rack.
It’s lightweight, feels strong. Time will tell on its reliability and construction/design, but for now I’m disappointed in the assembly/quality portions.
Finally was able to install my rack and soft cover combo. Not intentionally made to work together and it has its kinks I need to work out but with some (I hope) temporary adjustments. I was able to get both installed with the goal I had in mind. I’ll be ordering some additional items to dial in the length of bars and such I need (couldn’t be done ahead of time unfortunately since there isn’t a combo made to match together yet) but over all happy with the product. Only room for improvement was the instruction manual as it wasn’t specific to the Maverick so some parts didn’t say optional and I thought I was missing pieces and the mounts didn’t match so I had to look at the review photos to make sure I was a installing correctly.
So far I'm loving the XTR1 rack on my Maverick. It was relatively easy to assemble, looks great, and is the exact size I wanted. I couldn't get the right height anywhere else. I wanted a rack that would sit juuuuuust below the height of the cab to stay out of the wind, but easily let me carry my SUPs and Kayaks with a carrier. I ordered it at 16" high and it's exactly where I wanted it! I'm giving 4.5 stars for two reasons. 1) the top support braces don't match the rest of the rack. They are the "clear" aluminum finish vs the black anodized finish for the rest of the rack. 2) A few of the anodized pieces had very minor blemishes/rubs and one threaded end was not cleared of waste aluminum (I had to completely remove the piece from the rack to figure out why the bolt wasn't inserting, but was able to clear the waste easily enough). The blemishes are tiny, so not visible unless closely inspecting the pieces. I got the wide brackets so I could use my soft rolling tonneau as well. So far it looks like everything will fit fine, but I'll know for sure once I get the cover back on this weekend.
We have the 13” version of this rack and love it for our RTT/camping setup so far. Highly recommend this bed rack! The Xtrusion team is amazing. It’s great to see more aftermarket accessories coming out for the Maverick & can’t wait to do more with our XTR1.
Put this mount on this past weekend, and wow is it solid. Locks right in and doesn’t move at all. The rubberized knobs also lock in solidly and after 900 miles on and off road, low speed and highway it didn’t even need to be tightened a bit. Definitely worth the investment for the piece of mind.
Great product and great customer service.
I purchased the Hi-Lift mount and it was quick and easy to install on my rack. Product is made of high quality material. I love it!
