Lifetime Warranty

Xtrusion Overland Limited Lifetime Warranty

Built for Adventure. Backed for Life.

At Xtrusion Overland, we design and manufacture products intended to withstand years of demanding use, from daily commuting to remote backcountry travel. We take pride in the quality of our engineering, materials, and craftsmanship, and we stand behind every product we build.

Subject to the terms, conditions, limitations, and exclusions set forth below, Xtrusion Overland warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original retail purchaser.

Our goal is simple: if we made a mistake, we'll make it right.

Warranty Coverage

This Limited Lifetime Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal intended use, including:

  • Structural defects in aluminum extrusions

  • Structural defects in CNC-machined components

  • Structural defects in formed sheet metal components

  • Manufacturing defects in welded assemblies

  • Manufacturing defects in supplied mounting hardware

  • Defects in workmanship that impair the intended function of the product

If a covered defect is verified by Xtrusion Overland, we may, at our sole discretion:

  • Repair the defective component

  • Replace the defective component

  • Replace the complete product

  • Issue store credit equivalent to the value of the defective component

Replacement components may be revised designs, updated versions, refurbished parts, or current production equivalents.

Original Purchaser Requirement

This warranty applies only to the original retail purchaser of the product.

Products must have been purchased directly from Xtrusion Overland or through an authorized dealer or distributor.

Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

This warranty is non-transferable.

Finish and Cosmetic Coverage

Powder coating, anodizing, painted finishes, graphics, decals, and other cosmetic finishes are covered against manufacturing defects for a period of two (2) years from the original purchase date.

This warranty does not cover normal cosmetic wear, including:

  • Scratches

  • Chips

  • Abrasions

  • Fading

  • Oxidation

  • Surface corrosion caused by environmental exposure

  • Damage from road debris

  • Exposure to salt, chemicals, or harsh environmental conditions

Off-road equipment is routinely exposed to environments that accelerate cosmetic wear. Such wear is considered normal and is not covered under warranty.

Hardware, Moving Components, and Wear Items

The following components are covered against manufacturing defects for two (2) years from the original purchase date:

  • Hinges

  • Latches

  • Locks

  • Gas struts

  • Bearings

  • Sliding mechanisms

  • Rubber seals

  • Weather stripping

  • Plastic components

  • Supplied fasteners and hardware

Normal wear, maintenance, adjustment, and replacement of these components is considered routine ownership and is not covered beyond the applicable warranty period.

Fabric and Soft Goods

Where applicable, fabrics, tents, mesh panels, zippers, windows, soft enclosures, and similar materials are covered against manufacturing defects for one (1) year from the original purchase date.

This warranty does not cover:

  • UV degradation

  • Mildew

  • Abrasion

  • Tears

  • Punctures

  • Weathering

  • Damage caused by improper storage or use

Installation and Owner Responsibilities

Proper installation and maintenance are essential to product performance and safety.

The owner and installer are responsible for following all installation instructions, maintenance requirements, torque specifications, and inspection intervals supplied by Xtrusion Overland.

Failure to properly install, inspect, maintain, or re-torque the product may void warranty coverage.

Fastener Torque Requirements

All supplied hardware must be installed according to the torque specifications provided in the installation instructions.

Warranty coverage does not apply to damage resulting from:

  • Under-torqued fasteners

  • Over-torqued fasteners

  • Cross-threaded hardware

  • Stripped hardware

  • Missing installation components

  • Incorrect replacement hardware

  • Improper assembly procedures

Hardware installation errors are not manufacturing defects.

Required Thread Locker Use

Where specified in installation instructions, supplied thread-locking compound or an approved equivalent must be used during installation.

Failure to use required thread-locking compound constitutes improper installation.

Damage, component loss, or product failure resulting from omitted thread-locking compound is not covered under warranty.

Re-Torque and Inspection Requirements

Because vehicles experience vibration, chassis flex, thermal expansion, and off-road impacts, periodic inspection and maintenance are required.

Unless otherwise specified:

  • All hardware should be re-torqued after the first 100 miles of operation.

  • Hardware should be inspected after significant off-road use.

  • Hardware should be periodically inspected as part of routine vehicle maintenance.

Failure to inspect and maintain hardware may result in loosening, movement, noise, wear, or damage and is not covered under warranty.

Loose Hardware Exclusion

Fastener loosening resulting from vibration, off-road use, environmental conditions, improper installation, lack of maintenance, or normal vehicle operation is considered routine maintenance and is not a manufacturing defect.

Warranty coverage does not extend to:

  • Loose hardware

  • Missing hardware

  • Lost fasteners

  • Noise caused by loose hardware

  • Movement caused by loose hardware

  • Damage resulting from loose or missing hardware

unless directly caused by a verified manufacturing defect in the hardware itself.

Load Ratings and Safe Use

Published load ratings are based on properly installed products used under intended operating conditions.

Vehicle manufacturers may publish roof, bed, or accessory load ratings lower than those published by Xtrusion Overland.

The owner is solely responsible for:

  • Adhering to vehicle manufacturer limitations

  • Properly securing cargo

  • Maintaining safe loading practices

  • Inspecting mounting systems regularly

Damage caused by overloading or improper cargo management is not covered under warranty.

Roof Top Tents and Accessories

Products used with roof top tents, awnings, fuel containers, water storage systems, recovery equipment, lighting systems, storage boxes, and other accessories must remain within published load ratings.

The owner is responsible for ensuring all third-party accessories are installed, maintained, and secured according to their manufacturer's requirements.

Damage caused by improperly mounted accessories, excessive loads, or accessory failure is not covered under warranty.

Water Intrusion and Weather Sealing

Weather seals are designed to reduce water intrusion under typical environmental conditions.

However, no vehicle-mounted enclosure can be guaranteed to remain completely watertight under all conditions.

Variables including:

  • Vehicle speed

  • Wind direction

  • Rain intensity

  • Water crossings

  • Pressure differentials

  • Off-road conditions

  • Seal maintenance

may allow moisture intrusion.

Minor moisture intrusion does not constitute a manufacturing defect and is not covered under warranty.

Off-Road Use Disclaimer

Xtrusion Overland products are engineered for off-road and overland travel. However, off-road use subjects equipment to forces that vary significantly depending on terrain, speed, cargo weight, vehicle setup, and operating conditions.

Damage resulting from:

  • Vehicle accidents

  • Rollovers

  • Impacts

  • Collisions

  • Excessive dynamic loading

  • Jumping vehicles

  • Improper driving techniques

  • Abuse or misuse

is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered under warranty.
