1. Route & Planning

☐ Check weather patterns (rain, flash floods, snow risk)
☐ Inform someone at home of your route & return date
☐ Confirm fuel range between stops

Pro Tip: Remote roads can become impassable quickly. Always have a Plan B route.

2. Vehicle Readiness
☐ Inspect tires (pressure + tread)
☐ Confirm torque on critical fasteners
☐ Check fluids (oil, coolant, brake fluid)
☐ Test battery health
☐ Verify recovery points are secure
☐ Ensure spare tire + jack are accessible

3. Recovery & Communication

☐ Fully charged phone + backup battery

Self-recovery capability dramatically reduces risk.

4. Medical Preparedness
