Our posted lead times are only estimations and rely on various factors, many times outside of our control. Historic challenging times within our industry have caused ripples in the supply chain world that have repercussions even on the smallest of components at times. As you would imagine, many companies in our industry are experiencing the same.

Our bed racks are super cool, with the ability to be customized. But this causes a series of challenges due to the thousands of possible combinations regarding compatibility, availability, etc. However, we are constantly aiming at improving our processes, hiring and training our people to achieve a reliable fulfillment process.

If you have additional questions about our lead times, please check our current estimations and reach out to our team if you need additional information. We thank you for your continued support and patience as we improve our processes.

While we would do our best to accommodate a specific need, please do not plan any trips or outings based on the estimated lead times.

THIRD PARTY PRODUCTS

Xtrusion Overland started supplying various brands that go hand in hand with our own products, to provide a complete service and help us grow. This includes products that are drop shipped. Please be advised that availability and lead times of those product are solely impacted by the third-party vendor's schedule. Many products are sold under an open inventory method, as the technology to sync inventories is limited, therefore please reach out if a specific product is needed by a specific date for us to double check with the supplier for you!

Any potential delay that occurs in the sourcing, processing, or drop shipment at the third party level will be communicated to the best of our ability to the customer.

ESTIMATED DATE  |  LEAD TIMES

The estimated lead time provided when you placed your order is JUST AN ESTIMATE. It is not a guarantee that the product will be shipped on that date. The estimated lead time gives you some sense of what the current times to source, cut, pack and ship takes. Many times the lead time can be shorter, but likewise it can extend, depending on factors such as previous demand and current supply. We manufacture many components in house, but extenuating circumstances such as down time for maintenance or unscheduled downtimes for repairs might impact dates as well as delays related to our sourced components. There is a constant flow of parts and shipments, and sometimes the visibility becomes a challenge to pinpoint exactly when your product will ship.

Feel free to check on your order at any time. Be aware that our customer service team may not be able to give you an exact date for completion but rest assured we are tracking your order and it will be built in the order that it was received.

Xtrusion Overland also reserves the right to cancel items from an order, offer an alternative substitution or issue refund accordingly when product is delayed at an unacceptable time frame or at the request of the customer.

Rack Angle Guide

Overland Rack Angle Compatibility

One Angle.
Every Build.

XTR bed racks use three rack angles — 9°, 13°, and 20° — each matched to specific vehicle setups and accessory families. Find the right angle for your build so every rail, crossbar, and mounting kit lines up perfectly.

Engineered quality

CNC billet strength

We didn't just join the strong extrusions with some sheet metal corner brackets — we put the aluminum where it makes a difference. Every angle variant uses the same 6061-T6 Aerospace grade billet, machined to precision to join all components with exact angular alignment.

  • ✓ All three angles share the same billet standard
  • ✓ 9°, 13°, and 20° brackets machined to exact specs
  • ✓ No sheet metal corners — pure aerospace aluminum
CNC billet corner brackets for XTR bed racks — available in 9°, 13°, and 20° angles
Quick Reference

Angle Compatibility

Rack Angle Product Line Compatible Accessories
9° Gladiator Series All Gladiator bed racks (XTR1, XTR3 and XBRS), Gladiator mounting kits, Gladiator-specific crossbars, including Softopper versions on Gladiator.
13° Soft Topper Series Soft Topper bed racks for all truck models (except Gladiator).
20° Universal / Crossbars All XTR1, XTR3, XBRS Bed Racks, universal mounting rails, standard rack accessories (except Gladiator or Softopper)
9-degree Gladiator rail crossbar — XTR Gladiator series rack angle
9° angle

Gladiator Series

The 9° angle is dedicated to the Gladiator product line. This angle was engineered specifically for Gladiator rails and their mounting geometry, ensuring a flush, secure connection between your rails and any Xtrusion add-on accessories. This includes Softopper Gladiator Builds and XBRS for Gladiator.

Xo Skeleton Note: The XO.SKLTN Uses a complete different system not to be confused with Gladiator XTR 9 Degree components.

13-degree Soft Topper rail crossbar — XTR Soft Topper series rack angle
13° angle

Soft Topper Series

The 13° angle serves Soft Topper products. This intermediate angle provides the right compromise between load clearance and low profile when mounting accessories to Soft Topper rails and their compatible hardware.

Crossbars: XTR1 and XTR3 use 13° when mounted on Soft Topper setups.

20-degree universal rack crossbar — XTR universal and crossbar series
20° angle

Universal / Crossbars

The 20° angle is the default for all other Xtrusion products — universal mounting rails, standard crossbars, and general overland rack accessories. This is the most common angle in the industry and works with the widest range of roof rack and truck bed rack systems.

XBRS: XBRS crossbars use 20° components, the same as XTR1 and XTR3, so the joints stay compatible if you upgrade to a full rack. The one exception is XBRS for the Jeep Gladiator, which uses 9°.

Quick Reference

Xo Skeleton — Angle Breakdown

The Xo Skeleton uses two angles Gladiator Specific or Universal. However, some accessories might be compatible with both, because the top rail consolidates both angles into one. Crossbar mounts or awning mounts are compatible with both versions.

9° Angle

XOSKLTN Gladiator
Xo Skeleton Gladiator 9-degree angle
  • Gladiator rail mounts
  • Gladiator-specific hardware
  • Gladiator crossbar slots

13° Angle

XOSKLTN
Xo Skeleton Soft Topper 13-degree angle
  • Soft Topper rail mounts
  • Soft Topper mounting kits
  • Soft Topper crossbar slots

Note: The Xo Skeleton never uses the 20° angle.

How To Choose

The Right Rack Angle,
Explained

Every XTR accessory — crossbars, mounting brackets, add-on hardware — is cut for one specific angle. The right angle depends on your primary rail system or vehicle setup. Choosing the matching angle ensures every component in your build aligns correctly and carries load as designed.

  • Identify your rail system. Gladiator = 9°, Soft Topper = 13°, universal = 20°.
  • Check your crossbar type. XTR1/XTR3 come in all three — order the one matching your rails.
  • Stick to one angle per build. Mixing angles creates misalignment and stress points.
What determines the rack angle I need? +
Your rack angle is determined by your primary rail system or vehicle setup. Gladiator rails use 9°, Soft Topper setups use 13°, and universal or standard rack accessories use 20°. Choosing the matching angle ensures every accessory — crossbars, mounting brackets, and add-ons — aligns correctly.
Can I use a 20° crossbar with a Gladiator rail? +
No. Gladiator rails are engineered for 9° accessories. Using a 20° crossbar on a Gladiator rail will result in misalignment and improper load transfer. Always match your crossbar angle to your rail system.
Do Soft Toppers and Gladiator rails use the same angle? +
No. Soft Toppers use a 13° angle while Gladiator rails use a 9° angle. These angles are not interchangeable. If you're building with both types, you'll need separate angle-specific accessory sets.
Are XTR1 and XTR3 crossbars angle-specific? +
XTR1 and XTR3 crossbars come in three angle variants — 9°, 13°, and 20° — to match each rack system. The 20° variant is the default and works with universal racks. The 13° variant is used when paired with Soft Topper setups. Order the angle that matches your primary rail system.
Why do overland racks use different angles? +
Different rack angles exist to accommodate varying vehicle roof geometries, rail profiles, and load requirements. The 9° angle works well with Gladiator-style tubular rails. The 13° angle provides a middle ground for Soft Topper mounting systems. The 20° angle is the industry standard for universal applications and offers maximum load clearance.

Description

Fits every 2020–2026 Jeep Gladiator JT (Sport, Willys, Overland, Rubicon and Mojave, gas or EcoDiesel) with the factory Trail Rail or TeraFlex bed rails. Designed and built in Wichita, Kansas.

The Gladiator's 5-ft bed doesn't leave much floor, so a JT overland build usually goes up: a tent on top, recovery boards and fuel on the sides, coolers and bags underneath. This listing is that setup in one order. You get the XTR3, our highest-rated bed rack, with MOLLE panels, AXS side gates and slide-out trays sized to it, bundled as a Stage package that costs less than buying the pieces one at a time. Every XTR3 is built to order, to your height requirements, in T-slot profile construction, so gear bolts on anywhere without drilling.

Running a different cover, or want a lighter rack? Every other Gladiator rack is listed under "Not the right Gladiator rack?" at the bottom of this page.

BEFORE YOU ORDER: CHECK YOUR BED RAILS AND COVER

  • Bed rails: this rack bolts to the factory Jeep Trail Rail system. No Trail Rail? Add the TeraFlex Uinta Cargo Bed Rail System first.
  • No cover, or a soft or roll-up tonneau: this is your rack. It ships on our Wide Width bed rail bracket, which adds 1.65" of clearance for most soft and roll-up covers. Tri-fold covers work, but the rack stops them folding all the way open.
  • BAK Revolver X4s or X4ts: order the XTR1 Gladiator rack for BAK Revolver covers, which mounts to the cover's T-slot rails.
  • RuggedRidge Armis with MaxTrack rails: order the XTR1 Gladiator rack for Armis covers, which mounts to the cover's MaxTrack rails.
  • Softopper, Fas-Top or Bestop soft topper: order the XTR3 Gladiator Soft Topper rack, built at a 9° angle to clear the fabric.
  • Roll-N-Lock XT, Pace Edwards UltraGroove or any cover with its own T-slot rails: email [email protected] first so we can check the fit.

Why the XTR3 for a Jeep Gladiator

  • Four bays on a short bed. Six uprights put a center column on each side of the 51" rack, which splits it into four bays, each with its own adjustable side brace. On the Gladiator's short bed, a tent and traction boards can share the rack with fuel cans and a gear bag without crowding the same rail.
  • Rated for a tent with people in it. 500 lb dynamic off-road, 850 lb dynamic on-road and 1,750 lb static, evenly distributed. The four-upright XTR1 is rated 450 / 850 / 1,550 lb.
  • Accessories sized to the JT rack. MOLLE plates come in the size that fits your height (12x9 on the 15" rack, 16x11 on the 23" rack), and slide-outs come cut for the Gladiator's 51" rack. Depending on the Stage and height, a package costs about $90 to $245 less than the same parts bought separately.
  • Aluminum, not steel. Black powder-coated aluminum T-slot extrusion in a 1.5" x 3.0" profile, so it won't rust out in the bed. The rack weighs about 80–110 lb, depending on height.

What you give up: the XTR3 costs $500 more than the XTR1 and weighs more, and the center columns mean slide-out trays come in half length only. For a full-length tray or a smaller bill, the XTR1 Pre-configured Gladiator rack offers both heights and every Stage on four uprights.

Choose your Stage

Stage Added to the rack Best for
1 Rack only Mounting a rooftop tent or hauling cargo now and adding accessories later
2 8 MOLLE plates A gear wall on both sides for traction boards, a shovel, lights and a first-aid kit
3a 8 MOLLE plates, 1 AXS gate, 1 slide-out One of our two most-ordered Gladiator packages: a pop-up side gate for quick reach into the bed, plus a sliding tray for the gear you'd otherwise dig for
3b 8 MOLLE plates, 2 AXS gates The other most-ordered Gladiator package: side access from both sides of the bed when a tent or load sits on top of the rack
3c 8 MOLLE plates, 2 slide-outs Two sliding trays for the gear you reach for most

Photos may show accessories that are sold separately unless they're included in your Stage.

15" or 23": choosing a height on the Gladiator

  • 23" cab height puts the top of the rack level with the Gladiator's roofline, leaves the most room in the bed for coolers and tall cases, and takes the 16x11 MOLLE plates. About three in four Gladiator owners who order this rack choose it.
  • 15" mid height keeps a tent or cargo down behind the cab for a lower profile and more garage clearance, and takes the 12x9 MOLLE plates.

Mounting a rooftop tent that reaches over the cab? The Gladiator's cab roof sits at 23" (measured from the bed rail, the same way as our rack heights), and we recommend at least 1" of clearance between the tent and the cab. Order the XTR3 Custom Height Gladiator rack at 24" (it's built at any height from 10" to 26" in 1" steps), or keep the 23" rack and add a 1" tent riser (our XTR Tent Riser Kit is coming soon). Running our XTR Offroad Gladiator roof rack too? It sits at 25", so we recommend a 24" bed rack with a 2" tent riser: that puts the tent at 26", 1" above the roof rack. Check your tent's underside and mounting hardware too.

Built for the JT's 5-ft bed

Every 2020–2026 Gladiator has the same 5-ft bed, about 60.3" long with the tailgate closed and 56.8" wide, so one rack size fits every model year and trim. The rack is 51" long, outside to outside of the uprights, and mounts on top of the bed rails, which leaves the whole bed floor free underneath.

Finish the tailgate with the TrailGate panel for the Gladiator. Adding the XTR Offroad Gladiator roof rack as well? Check the tent clearance note above first.

What's in the box

Every Stage includes the XTR3 rack:

  • 3 top crossbars
  • 6 uprights (columns)
  • 4 top support braces and 4 side braces (1530, black)
  • 6 Wide Width bed rail brackets and 6 top corner brackets
  • All screws and hardware for assembly
  • Black XTR Off-Road Reinforcement Plates — Set of 4, one per corner ($149 value)
  • Metal handle kit, set of 4 ($40 value)
  • 16 drop-in T-nuts, 5/16"-18 ($13 value)
  • 16 button head screws, 5/16"-18 x 5/8" ($16 value)

Stage 2 and up add 8 MOLLE plates (12x9 on the 15" rack, 16x11 on the 23" rack). Stages 3a, 3b and 3c also add the AXS gate kits and half-length slide-out kits shown in the Stage table, sized to the 51" rack.

Load rating

500 lb dynamic off-road, 850 lb dynamic on-road and 1,750 lb static, evenly distributed, or the rating of your Gladiator's bed rails, whichever is less. The rack and everything on it count against your Gladiator's payload, which varies by trim and is listed on the label in the driver's door jamb.

Jeep Gladiator XTR3 Bed Rack: FAQ

Does my Gladiator need the Trail Rail?

Yes, or a TeraFlex bed rail system. The rack's brackets bolt to the factory Jeep Trail Rail. If your Gladiator doesn't have it, install the TeraFlex Uinta Cargo Bed Rail System before the rack. That's what "w/ Bed Rails" means in the model menu.

Should I get the XTR3 or the XTR1 for my Gladiator?

Pick the XTR3 when the rack will carry a lot at once, such as a tent with a loaded gear wall, or when you want to set up four bays differently. Pick the XTR1 for the lower price or a full-length slide-out tray; with four uprights and no center column, it's rated 450 / 850 / 1,550 lb. Either one comes in 15" or 23" with the same Stages.

Will it work with my tonneau cover?

With most soft and roll-up covers, yes: the Wide Width bracket adds 1.65" of clearance. A tri-fold cover will still fit, but it can't fold fully open under the rack. BAK Revolver X4s/X4ts and RuggedRidge Armis covers have their own XTR1 Gladiator racks, and Softopper, Fas-Top and Bestop soft toppers need the XTR3 Soft Topper rack. All three are linked in the box at the top of this page.

Can I put a rooftop tent on it, and which height should I pick?

Yes. Mount the tent with our stainless Rooftop Tent Brackets, and keep the tent, the people in it and the gear on the rack within 1,750 lb parked, 850 lb on the road and 500 lb off-road, or your bed rail rating if that's lower. If the tent sits over the bed only, 15" or 23" both work; at 23" the rack is level with the roofline. If it reaches over the cab, leave at least 1" above the cab roof, which sits at 23": choose a 24" XTR3 Custom Height rack, or a 23" rack with a 1" tent riser (our XTR Tent Riser Kit is coming soon). With our Gladiator roof rack on the cab, go 24" plus a 2" riser.

Can I run it with a roof rack?

Yes, but plan around a rooftop tent. The XTR Offroad Gladiator roof rack sits at 25" above the bed rail, 2" above the cab roof. If your tent reaches over the cab, we recommend a 24" bed rack with a 2" tent riser (our XTR Tent Riser Kit is coming soon), which puts the tent 1" above the roof rack.

What does the AXS gate do?

It replaces a side brace with a gate on gas struts. Lift it, MOLLE plate and all, and you can reach into the bed from the side, which saves reaching over the tailgate on a short-bed JT. Most Gladiator owners who order this rack get at least one, in Stage 3a or 3b.

Can I add the Stage accessories later?

Yes. You can buy each piece separately: the XTR AXS Gate Kit (choose XTR3 and your rack height), the XTR Slide Out Kit (choose Half Length and 51" L) and MOLLE plates (Small 12x9 for the 15" rack, Large 16x11 for the 23"). Bought as a Stage up front, the same parts cost less.

Can I change the rack's height later?

Yes. The XTR3 Alternate Height Kit for Gladiator swaps in uprights and crossbars at a new height, and you keep the rest of the rack.

Does it fit the Rubicon, Mojave and EcoDiesel?

Yes. Every 2020–2026 Gladiator has the same 5-ft bed, so every trim and engine takes the same 51" rack, as long as the truck has the Trail Rail or TeraFlex rails.

How does it install and ship?

It bolts to the Trail Rail with the included bed rail brackets and hardware, with no drilling. Watch the XTR3 install video or see our instructions page. The rack ships in 2–3 boxes.

Is it made in the USA?

Yes. It's designed and built in Wichita, Kansas.

What's the warranty?

Covered by our Lifetime Warranty.
